We do not impose any word count restrictions, but please keep in mind we are a short-form media publication.
Formatting
All submissions must be:
Written in English. If your piece is predominantly in another language, an English translation must be provided.
In Arial, black, 11-point font, double-spaced
In a Google Document, titled as [genre]_[FirstName]_[LastName]_[Title]
E.g. poetry_Dylan_Thomas_And Death Have Shall No Dominion
Scholarship
Submissions must be originally yours; plagiarism nor artificially generated pieces will be tolerated. Pieces must be written in English. Please provide a translation if your work is predominantly in another language. Both versions will be published.
Content Warnings
Though we understand the need for self-expression, Youth of Letters does not tolerate any overly gratuitous or glorifying descriptions of sex, sexual assault, violence, self-harm, suicide, and/or abuse. Some readers and editors are minors, so please refrain from using explicitly sexually or NSFW content.
To respect the scholarship of the original authors, we also do not accept fan-works.

Absolutely. If you indicate you desire feedback, our lovely editors will provide free insight into your piece, regardless of whether it is accepted or rejected.

Yes! Youth of Letters believes your work is at your own liberty. However, please do indicate which publication(s) you previously submitted your work. Simultaneous submissions are also accepted.

Please expect an email from Youth of Letters within two to three weeks of the submission deadline regarding the status of your piece and if you had opted in, feedback.

Not at all! Youth of Letters strives to be as accessible as possible by eliminating a monetary barrier to entry.
